The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is a premier flower show, Grand Parade Food and Wine event plus a whole range of other things to do!
The dates of the Carnival is September 1-30 – yes it is now a whole month of what’s on activities!
Why not add something else to the what’s on list and participate in a craft that has been around for hundreds of years!
Learn to hand carve a wonderful wooden spoon!
A wooden spoon is more than a functional tool, it can also be a work of art, a sculpture that reflects the makers input and the response of the wood.
Creating a spoon takes an element from our natural environment and through the relationship of the inherent properties of the piece of wood and the skill of maker into a negotiated result. You cannot argue with the wood!
Expand your visit to Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers to include a spoon carving workshop!
Small group ensures personal attention for every participant. Suitable for women and men. No previous experience needed and all materials and tools supplied.
These one day workshops can be incorporated into an overnight or longer visit to Toowoomba so you have plenty of time to visit the Competition Gardens, sample the Food and Wine festival, the Floral Parade and more during your stay!
